How did Elena fell in love with Frank?

The premise of this novel was to explore what would happen if two individuals with different social statuses fell in love. As we all know, love doesn't care about what you are to the other person. Love can be felt by anyone for anyone at random. What determines reciprocation is whether they are appropriate and good.

Elena and Frank's relationship has been doomed from the start. Because of their social status, they know well that they couldn't. Elena was a crown princess; Frank was a footman. Professionally, it wouldn't work. A worker falling in love with an employer creates a power imbalance. One would overpower the other in professional aspects of their relationship.

Nevertheless, if we disregarded their power dynamic, they should work. They were in the same mental capacity. They complement each other. They are both loyal. Maybe, in another life, if they weren't what they were, it could work!
