Why I edited my own book?

I want to share with you why I chose to edit my own books instead of hiring a professional editor. Simply put, well, I mean, it's embarrassing to admit it, for I wanted my books polished and perfect for you lovely readers, but in truth this sad reality, I... I don't have enough money (hopefully: yet). As a middle-class Indonesian self-published author with an underpaid salary, affording a legitimate British English editor is a noteworthy investment. Even the most affordable editors I’ve managed to find are beyond my budget. It would be amazing to have a native speaker help edit and polish my work, but that remains out of reach for now.

So, for the time being, I have to settle with my own efforts. Hopefully, one day, I will have the funds to hire a professional editor and re-publish my books as revised versions. Until then, I'll keep dreaming and working with what I have.

I would like nothing more than to see the result of polished books as nice as a marble floor, enjoyed by you all.
